He secured it to the inside of 2 wooden planter boxes 5 ft x 2 ft. My Kentucky Wonder beans are fabulous this year! Each bean was perfect and only had to dust early on. No insecticide after June. Next year I’m going to add another arch for cucumbers!

The long life makes it affordable. I cut a 16′ in half and have two 8′ x 5′ high trellis.

Using tomato clips and hooks also makes a big difference. I used jute twine which seems to help the plants grip on better as they climb. I live in Texas and have a much longer growing season not worrying about frost until mid-late November. Very happy with the results and I am totally sold on vertical growing

That was a great idea. I am thinking of making 6’ x6’ panels using the leftover 6’ no climb fencing I have leftover from fencing my goats pasture and dog and cat yard. So, my approach is to buy a whole roll of concrete reinforcing wire, which is not quite so heavy gauge as hog panel, but which is nevertheless plenty strong enough to be self supporting when bent into an arch. if straightened from the roll it will need to be supported by sturdy ground anchored posts at least on either end. Most people should also count on having to buy a small bolt cutter to remove desired lengths. ( I used to be able to cut it with a strong wire cutter, but no longer can.) . Also note the weight management of an entire roll is not for an older, more frail person. This stuff lasts beyond a lifetime, but requires some physical strength to jockey around. At 78 it’s getting more difficult for me in the roll.
