For a huge tomato plant (can you say, “grafted?”), I use my bolt cutters and lop off 14 6-inch squares, the last one snipped just shy of the next vertical wire, to fold back around the first vertical wire and hold the cage together. Then I use any of a variety of stakes, old fenceposts, etc., and wire them to the cage, for when the plant gets heavy.
