A very good and sensible article about growing tomatoes. Specially for a novice or a beginner gardener.I have been gardenning for the last three years,but his year after doing a lots of reading about how to grow tomatoes I have improved. This year my main problem was how to select an effective and promising fertilizer for the plant. Now I do have the undestanding of NPK ratios in a fertilizer. I was distracted by using Calcium Nitrate fertilizer that had too much of nitrogen and phosphorus and very costly also,It caused lot of damage to some of my plants and they died. Could you please help us to find a fertilizer that is really safe to use and also may be a chart that would tell us what happens to a plant, when a wrong combination of NPK ratios is used, I mean the impact on the plant. I have used every thing including epsom salt, vinegar, baking soda, milk,fish,or some other weird things people talk about promoting best growth of tomatoes. Thank you
