That’s a good list, and tomatoes are forgiving so deserve our best efforts. I would add another option to 5, either in addition to or in place of the plastic sheet. I dig the holes deeper than the plants will go a week before planting so sun/air will permeate the area. While the holes warm, the soil piled on the surface will also be warmed when backfilled. In a colder area, I even placed gallon milk jugs filled with water next to the holes during the day to absorb solar heat, then placed in holes at night to accelerate the warm up.

I bury on average, a 15″ walleye carcasses in between every 2 plants. Any dish should work good. Roughly 1/2lb. Or I start a fish tea. After a few days add a few handfuls of last falls maple leaves. Once I’ they have become saturated , mix them into the bottom of the planting hole. I have best results when the mixture is buried about 10″ below where the rootball will be set at planting. Or guesstimate how deep the roots will be when fruit is setting, so that bulk, of almost all the plants nutritional needs will be available at the proper time, directly to the roots without burning them. Remainder of the season you can fertize as usual with half strength, and I even back off on the amount of watering also due to the available moisture from the leaves that are still damp.
